These German-made gems are found at Pfaff Oakville, a newly revamped, 8,000 square foot boutique race shop, and repair and maintenance centre all located at 2416 Wyecroft Road (Unit 1). "We gutted the space and put in some tender loving care throughout," said Metcalfe. It is now ready to cater to the bevy of Porsche owners who live in the Golden Horseshoe that covers cities between Mississauga and Niagara Falls. It's off to a good start. Already a 911 Coupe Porsche has been sold and was delivered to its new owner the Victoria Day weekend and maintenance appointments are available. A technician and two salespeople are at the ready. Porsche owners have long-awaited a local destination for their vehicle's needs, said Metcalfe. Opening the local shop is a continuation of a career Metcalfe started in 1986 and in which his business partner Chris Pfaff grew up. Metcalfe worked at the Pfaff family's dealership in Newmarket from 1986 to 1990. The company, started by the late Hans J. Pfaff more than 40 years ago, has become the largest Porsche retailer in Canada. Chris is the founder's son who now heads up the Woodbridge firm and has known Metcalfe for 22 years. After 1990, Metcalfe moved on to Mercedes Benz in Oakville becoming a partner and eventually proprietor by 1997. He continued there until 2005, took a couple of years to enjoy his family and complete a couple of projects and is now back on the scene he knows best. Premium German and pre-owned vehicles, specializing in Porsche and with ability to lease any new vehicle, are the focus of Pfaff Oakville, said Metcalfe. The two FSI direct injection gasoline engines provide supreme performance with fuel consumption that is more than 10 per cent lower than the previous model. The dynamic suspension and many other technologies have been adopted directly from the large luxury class. The Audi A4 reaches the Canadian market in Fall 2008. Compared to its predecessor, the designers tweaked the proportions into a new sporty ratio. The front overhang was shortened, and the hood and the wheelbase were extended visibly. The new A4 measures 4.70 meters (15.42 feet), nearly 12 centimeters (4.6 inches) more than its predecessor. The body is significantly stiffer and safer than its predecessor, while, at the same time, dropping about 10 per cent of its weight thanks to intelligent lightweight steel construction. With a base size of 480 liters (16.95 cubic feet), and in the sedan 490 liters (17.30 cubic feet), the new Audi A4 has a larger trunk than any of its immediate competitors.
