Michael Lamothe, 44, of Speers Road died after the 1995 Chevrolet Lumina he was riding in rolled over on Speers Road east of Bronte Road at about 2 a.m. Police believe the westbound car was travelling at high speed when it lost control, crossed over the eastbound lanes, left the roadway, collided with a hydro pole and rolled over onto its roof. Following the single-vehicle accident, driver Lubomar Mikan, 39, of Page Crescent in Burlington, was charged with impaired driving causing death, refusing to provide a breath sample, breach of probation and breach of recognizance. Sgt. Brian Carr said further investigation and a check of the car involved have led to further charges. Mikan now faces a total of five breach of probation charges and two information to the police.
