The Gators were undefeated heading into the final. Guelph had handed thhe Angels their only defeat of the tournament, topping them 10-2 in round-robin play. The Angels made the most of the rematch, building a 5-3 lead through five innings and then pushing across a couple of key insurance runs in the top of the sixth. Strong defence and great pitching allowed the Angels to shut down the Gators over the final two innings to secure the victory. Oakville opened the tournament with an outstanding hitting and pitching performance in an 11-1 victory over Peterborough. The next morning Guelph handed the Angels a loss but they bounced back to edge Halton Hills 6-5. Oakville wrapped up the round robing with a 5-5 tie against the host St. Catharines squad and that was enough to earn the Angels a trip to the medal round.
