The event will take place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Halton Regional Administrative Centre, Auditorium located at 1151 Bronte Rd. The event will focus on providing seniors and their caregivers with information about what they can do to make their homes safer now and in the future. Guest speakers will include Canada's Handyman Shawn Montieth who will talk about home renovations for seniors and Jamie Shipley from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation who will discuss things to consider when hiring contractors. Halton Region staff will provide a presentation about the prevention of falls and guests will be able to view displays set up by local businesses and non-profit agencies that offer services and resources to help seniors live safely for longer in their own homes.
