On Wednesday, June 18 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Wellspring will host Journey Into the Labyrinth at Burlington's Central Park Labyrinth. Pre-registration is required by calling 905-257-1988. The rain date will be Thursday, June 19 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This workshop will be led by Jo Ann Stevenson, a labyrinth facilitator and president of the Labyrinth Community Network. The workshop will begin with a brief presentation about the history and symbolism of labyrinths. Participants will then walk the labyrinth. At the conclusion of the workshop participants can discuss their experiences. Participants are asked to meet at the opening of the labyrinth, which is fully accessible to walkers and wheelchairs. On Wednesday, June 25, Wellspring will host Naturopathic Strategies to Strengthen the Immune System from 7-8:30 p.m. Participants can pre-register at 905-827-1988. Naturopathic medicine is a complementary form of medicine that can be incorporated with conventional medical treatments. This workshop will discuss how naturopathic treatments can help strengthen the immune system through various modalities and will be led by Shannon Kaupp, a licensed naturopathic practitioner and an active member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). Way of the Drum workshop will take the stage at Wellspring on Wednesday, June 11 from 7-8:30 p.m. This workshop for adults aged 18 to 39 years will focus on coping with cancer and participants will have an opportunity to explore rhythm and relaxation through a drum circle. Group drumming has been used for centuries for both expressing what is in the heart in a rhythmical way, and to generate inner balance and community spirit. In more recent times, the healing effects of drumming have been explored for its potential to reduce stress and increase health and well-being. The workshop will be facilitated by Mark Chindemi, a drum therapist. No previous drumming experience is required. Call 905-257-1988.
