The festival will feature a number of attractions, such as live entertainment by local dance and music groups, workshops, interactive displays, craft-making activities, as well as an art show and sale. A new addition this year is the CUAS Battle of the Bands, which includes live music in an outdoor beer garden setting featuring local groups from a variety of genres and age groups. The competition starts at 1:45 p.m., with bands working to impress celebrity judge Greig Nori. Nori's most recent accomplishment was co-writing and producing the latest platinum-selling album Famous Last Words by Hedley. Visual artists are also welcome to display their work at the festival. An award will be given to the best artist, which includes the chance to show their work at the new gallery in downtown Oakville called the Towne Square Gallery. Admission costs $10 for adults, $5 for students and children under 12 get in for free. Vendors and volunteers, including both adults and students, are still needed. The event runs rain or shine.
