SPORTSBRIEFS Tavares was one of 10 players from the Canadian team that won gold at the world junior hockey championships in the Czech Republic earlier this year that were invited to the upcoming national selection camp in Ottawa. Joining Tavares at the July 25-29 camp will be Oakville's Cody Goloubef, who was selected in the second round of last weekend's NHL Entry Draft. Goloubef and Tavares were teammates on Team Ontario at the 2006 World Under-17 Challenge. Ottawa will also be the host for this year's tournament, which begins December 26. won silver in the C-4 500m along with Paul Bryant.
