"I always put myself in the shoes of readers and tried to guess what questions would spring into their head at that point of the book," he said. Throughout the book, Bradley poses questions that allow readers to anticipate a response and gain an even further understanding of the development of the Cadbury brand. According to Bradley, even though the book talks about the growth and development of the brand, it will be a good read for those who love chocolate as much as those who wish to learn more about the business side of the company. "Business readers will have insights around how to deal with the problems facing them today. Chocolate lovers will find interesting background about chocolate and the brand," he said, adding that when people find out that he worked with the company, they always express their fascination with chocolate advertisements, how chocolate is made, and what its secrets are. "I tried to bring these conversations in the book," he said. Finding a structure that includes all the events in the company's 177-year lifetime was not an easy task for the "Business readers will have insights around how to deal with the problems facing them today." John Bradley Author of Cadbury's Purple Reign first-time author. "I never had a fear of mental blocks or blank pages. My struggle was not can I write, but how to write," he explained. After changing the structure approximately five times, Bradley settled on breaking the book into five large parts, or themes and then further breaking down those themes into chapters. The result: a book that covers the progress of the Cadbury industry from 1831 until today in a comprehensive, yet entertaining, easy to read way. It took Bradley two years to complete all aspects of the book-having his idea accepted, finding a publisher, gathering research material and writing and editing. He says his family "heard little else but chocolate related matters throughout that time." Now that the book is out, Bradley could not be any happier. "It's quite exciting to have people looking at something you put so much effort into," he said, with a distinct tone of accomplishment in his voice. But Cadbury's Purple Reign may not be Bradley's final journey with chocolate, he plans to write another book, but is undecided about whether he should write a general interest book about chocolate or a business one about branding. Meanwhile, Cadbury's Purple Reign is available at bookstores and can be bought from Chapters for $36.29. Summer Sale Pricing From $ 4,595 or $ 65/month.
