Happy to have his former quarterback in the fold once again, Oakville Longhorns coach Barry Emo began to compare the development to a current situation in the NFL, then caught himself. "I was going to use the analogy of Brett Favre going back to the Green Bay Packers, but apparently they're not interested," Emo said, with a chuckle. "He can apply here, if he wants." Unlike the Packers and their long-time star pivot, who retired this past winter but is considering a comeback, the Longhorns are welcoming back Tommy Denison with open arms. Denison, who was to play this season for Oakville before being forced to relocate to Vancouver for business reasons, rejoined the Northern Football Conference club last weekend. His first order of football business was passing for two touchdowns and more than 350 yards, leading the Longhorns to a 25-15 victory over the Kingston Privateers Saturday at Bronte Athletic Field. The victory squared Oakville's record at 2-21, virtually assuring the Longhorns of a berth in this year's NFC playoffs. Denison still works and resides in B.C. but, given the short notice of his relocation earlier this year, his employer has granted him the flexibility to travel back to Ontario for personal reasons.
