Celebratory weekend Italy Cup champs in store as Cru turns 40 The Oakville Crusaders Rugby Club will celebrate its 40th anniversary season with several events this weekend. Tonight (Friday), the club will host an alumni dinner at Othello's Banquet Hall. Founding members, club presidents and rugby dignitaries will be on hand to help with the celebration, which is expected to draw nearly 300 people. Tomorrow (Saturday), the festivities move to the pitch at Crusader Park. Games will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the under-14 club taking the field, and conclude with a 4 p.m. contest between the Crusaders premier men's team against old rival Balmy Beach. A highlight of the day should be the over-40 contest between NOBS (Niagara Old Boys) and a Crusaders' oldtimers club. Prizes will be raffled off during the day and memorabilia from all decades will be on display, with a night of music and dancing to follow at the Crusader Clubhouse. Sunday, the celebratory weekend will conclude with the club's 14th annual Greater Vulgar Open golf tournament at Indian Wells Golf & Country Club in Burlington.
