Well start training. This September, members of the Oakville community will have the opportunity to challenge their minds, bodies and teamwork skills in a local re-creation of the popular scavenger-hunt style travel show. The Amazing Race Against Time will be a fundraising event open to local teens and young adults across Oakville. The event will help support the fundraising goals of the ongoing $Million or More Oakville ($MOMO) campaign, raising funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation. The Amazing Race Against Time is on Sunday, Sept. 28 and is expected to draw participants from around the Oakville area. Those wishing to participate must pay a registration fee of $25 and raise a minimum of $150 for each individual team member. Registration deadline is Sept. 14 and the race kit pickup day and fundraising deadline is Sept. 21. The event is open to all ages, but those under age 18 must submit a consent form signed by their parent or guardian. The tasks will be designed to challenge individuals' mental and physical capabilities and encourage creativity and teamwork amongst the groups. The race destinations will allow partici- pants to interact with local businesses as well as historical community landmarks in a competitive and strategic area-wide event. Teams will work to collect points and passport stamps throughout the race and beat their competitors to the finish line.
