It raised more than $2,200 for the Canadian Cancer Society, Oakville Unit. Oakville's first Paws for Hope trail walk-a-thon, saw dogs and their owners walk together to raise funds for people living with cancer. The participants enjoyed a leisurely walk through the Glen Abbey trail system. Peter Zulauf was recently named as the new president for a two-year term. He will oversee a board of volunteers, who provides an advisory role in assessing needs at a provincial level, monitoring service delivery and supporting fundraising and public relations activities. "I am really honoured to be taking on this role," said Zulauf. As a former owner of Affiliated Insurance Management Inc., Zulauf has been an active leadership volunteer for the Red Cross in Ontario for seven years. He first became involved as a council member at large for the Oakville Branch, and since then has been part of several committees at a provincial level. He was also Red Cross Ontario Zone Vice-President from 2006-2008. Beyond his volunteer work with the Red Cross, Zulauf has been very active in the Oakville community. He is a past president and founding member of the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar. He has also been involved with the Oakville Insurance Brokers Association, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and is currently an honorary member of the Oakville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors Zulauf retired earlier this year.
