Shinerama is Canada's largest post-secondary school fundraiser. It involves students from more than 65 universities and colleges in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's search for a cure, or control for cystic fibrosis (CF). Once again, Sheridan student union members will be taking part in the campaign that has raised almost $17.5 million to help fund CF research and treatment programs since the campaign began in 1964. Cystic fibrosis, which affects the lungs and the digestive system, is the most common, fatal, genetic disease affecting young Canadians. Sheridan has participated in Shinerama since 2002. On Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sheridan student union members and friends will congregate and participate in various activities and provide services such as bouncing castles, mini golf, soccer and hockey shoot offs, face painting, car washing and a barbecue. Everyone is welcome and the services are available in exchange for a donation.
