Loving wife of 67 years to Edward. Devoted mother to Diane (Jim), Joan and Jim (Beth). Much loved grandmother to We s, Ty l e r, S t e p h e n a n d S a n d r a . Gladys devoted her life to helping others through church and community work both in Pointe Claire, Quebec and Oakville. She was very proud of her recognition of 25 years of service from Meals and Wheels. She was a dedicated volunteer in community associations for handicapped children both in Pointe Claire and Oakville. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at 4C for their special care and support. A Memorial Service will be held at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville (1 block east of Kerr St) on Saturday September 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Living Oakville would be greatly appreciated. Obituaries SCEATS, Dion Unexpectedly in Mexico on his 73rd bir thday, August 21, 2008, while on h o l i d a y w i t h h i s f r i e n d Va l . Predeceased by his wife Doreen and brother Tony. Born in New Zealand, he is survived by his brothers Neville a n d R o g e r, a n d m a ny n i e c e s a n d nephews there. A retired teacher, he pursued many interests, such as travelling, golfing, boating and many volunteer activities. Will be missed by friends locally and in many parts of the world. Dion will also be missed by his f r i e n d s a t t h e Pow e r B o a t C l u b (Oakville) and the Oakville Club. As per his wishes, a celebration of his life will be held on Thursday September 18th, 2008 between 6:30 & 8:30pm, at his home. A private memorial service and cremation have taken place in Mexico. QUAILE, Mavis Addison- Suddenly on Monday September 8th, 2008 at C a m p b e l l fo r d M e m o r i a l H o s p i t a l , Campbellford, Ontario. Beloved wife of Alan Roy Quaile. Devoted mother to Kimberley Soeder and her husband Ralf of Oakville and Leanne Britten and her husband Mar k of Wasaga Beach. Mavis was predeceased by her son Russell Adam Quaile. She was a very cool Omi to her grandchildren Leah Thomas, Gillian Hare and Addison, Emmi and Jamison Soeder. Great grandmother to Zoe Thomas. Cherished cousin of Carol Garland and her husband Les. Mavis was the only child and predeceased by her parents George and Mary Vint Addison. Mavis was born in England June 21, 1934 and along with her husband Alan and dear friends Ann and Michael Pearson immigrated to Canada in 1957. Mavis and Alan lived in Clarkson for many years before retiring to Warkworth Ontario in 1994 to golf and curl. There will be a celebration of Mavis's life at Pine Ridge Golf Club in Warkwor th on Saturday, September 27th at 5pm. She will be missed by her family and very many friends. Obituary STEWART, Elizabeth- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Stewart at the age of 98 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on September 9th, 2008. E l i z a b e t h wa s p r e d e c e a s e d m a ny years ago by her husband John and will be sadly missed by her daughter Norma Kirkpatrick (Bill) of Oakville and her son Iain Stewart (Marion) of Burlington. Dear Nana to Sandra Wright (Dave) and Hunter Kirkpatrick (Sherrie) and Great Gran to Heather Wr ight, and Dear Nana to her extended family of Roger Bartel (Beth), Tina Dickenson (Jim), Kathy Cooper and Great Gran to Nicholas, Hayley and Finn. She will also be missed by family and friends in Scotland having left them, to join her family in Canada, in 1983. Elizabeth's life long passion was singing and she was a founding and active member of the Interlink Choir for many years. She also volunteered with Wheels to Meals program at its commencement in the "Y". She was a caring, friendly person and will be fondly remembered by many friends and acquaintances in Oakville. The family wish to thank the wonderful hospital staff in 3 East for their care and compassion given to Elizabeth during her time in OTMH. Family and friends were received on Thursday between 7 and 9 pm. at the Ward Funeral Home (109 Reynolds Street, Oakville. 905-844-3221). A celebration of Elizabeth's life was held in the Ward Chapel on Friday, September 12th, 2008 at 3:30 pm.
