To celebrate our harbours, numerous popular events have sprung up over the years that serve to bring our communities together as one. The annual June Waterfront Festival has become Oakville's signature event, and presents us all with numerous activities focused around the town's two harbours. With music, food, and spectacles to see and enjoy, it's no surprise that every summer finds our streets filled with cars, and our harbours filled with people. For water lovers, the harbours accommodate several hundred sail and power boaters, as well as provide a home for numerous private boat clubs and marinas. Capital improvements completed in the harbours this year included the replacement of the seawall along the road into Bronte Beach Park, ensuring that our harbours will remain with us for many years to come.
