Halton candidates debate Friday The Oakville Chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) and the Advancement of Women Halton (AWH) are co-hosting a public Halton All-Candidates' Breakfast Meeting on Friday, Sept. 26. It will be held at Dynasi Family Restaurant, 399 Dundas St. W. and breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m. Meet the candidates from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tickets cost $20 each or two for $30, and are available in advance. All four candidates in the Halton riding have been invited. The following candidates have confirmed their participation: Amy Collard (Green), Lisa Raitt (Conservative) and Garth Turner (Liberal). Candidates will present opening remarks and then the meeting will be open to questions from the floor. CAW hosts debate Sept. 30 An all-candidates debate will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) Local 707 Union Hall. The hall is located at 475 North Service Rd. E. and the debate will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. All four Oakville riding candidates have been confirmed. The purpose of the debate is to examine government policies that are playing an integral role in the viability of the domestic, union-made automobile manufacturing sector.
