Oakville defeated the Bramalea Blues 8-5 Friday at Joshua's Creek Arenas, dealt the Whitby Fury an 8-5 loss in the Governor's Showcase Tournament Saturday in Bowmanville, and downed the Vaughan Vipers 6-1 Monday in Vaughan, improving to 41-0 on the season. Luke Moodie held the hot hand against Bramalea and Whitby, recording a hat trick Friday and adding two more goals Saturday. Jeremy Welsh scored twice in both Saturday's and Monday's victories, Kyle Badham scored once against Whitby and twice versus Vaughan, and Lindsay Sparks totaled two goals and five assists in the three games. All four players are returnees from last year's league championship team, as are Julian Cimadamore, Steven Guzzo, Dustin Alcock, Sean Teakle, Adam Simms and Kellan Lain -- all of whom also scored during the three-game stretch. In fact, Ryan Murphy was the lone newcomer to find the net this past weekend, also adding five assists.
