Hazel Urie was born in Huron County, near the village of Seaforth, in September 1903, 105 years ago. Let's just think about that for a minute. In 1903, the Wright Brothers made their first motor-driven flight at Kitty Hawk, Henry Ford started selling his revolutionary Model A Ford for $750 (US), and physicist Marie Curie was the first woman to receive a Nobel Prize. This was the sentiment expressed by some councillors around the table at the Region's health and social services committee meeting Tuesday, when Oakville Councillor Fred Oliver made a motion to put a moratorium on all local development until the hospitals can catch up and accommodate the growth. A new hospital in north Oakville was originally scheduled to be built in 2013, but has been delayed until at least 2014.
