Chuckles for four local charities Chuckles for Charity, the second annual premier charity comic classic will take place on Friday, Oct. 17. The fundraiser for Community Living Oakville, the Children's Aid Foundation of Halton, Kerr Street Ministries and the Goddard Group Charitable Foundation will take place at Jonathans of Oakville. Last year's event raised $42,000 so the target this year is $50,000. Denim and diamonds is the dress code for the event that will begin with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at 6 p.m. on the main level of Jonathans located at 120 Thomas St. in downtown Oakville. The show will be upstairs at 8 p.m. and it will be theatre style. It will feature Kate "Funny Mom" Davis as the headliner. A speaker, writer, comedian, actress and mother of three, Davis has the ability to find humour in any situation. She is a five-time nominee at the Canadian Comedy Awards and star of her own hour-long comedy special on CTV and the Comedy Network. Davis has also appeared on Breakfast Television, Star TB, Toronto 1, Prime, WTN, TVO, CBC Radio One The Debaters and The Mom Show. The event will also feature Canadian comic Mark Forward who has headlined in comedy clubs across Canada and is one of Toronto's most recognized comedians. He has been nominated for various awards including Yuk Yuk's search for Canada's Funniest New Comic. Tickets cost $175 per person or $900 per group of six.
