Bronte's Cucci Ristorante, 119 Jones St., will offer a unique fine dining experience and jazz concert for patrons on Saturday, Nov. 8. The event will feature a five-course gourmet meal prepared by Chef Steve Rooney and the jazz stylings of internationally-acclaimed Laila Biali, scheduled just weeks after her appearance at Massey Hall in Toronto. Biali, an award-winning Canadian jazz artist who has performed at New York's Carnegie Hall and other high profile venues across Canada, the United States, Europe, Japan, Brazil and Peru, will be flying directly from New York City for her fine dining micro-concert performance at Cucci. Attendance will be limited to 80, who will enjoy a gourmet meal, concert and a private VIP artist's reception. Tickets cost $250 per person, including dinner, all taxes and gratuities, concert and VIP reception, with tables from four to eight available. New art at Abbozzo Janice Mason Steeves unveils brand new work from The Vessels Series in TURN, an exhibition opening at Abbozzo Gallery on Thursday, Oct. 30. The title of the exhibit and the imagery are rooted in Mason Steeves' pilgrimage in 2007 to Turkey to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the birth of the Sufi poet and mystic, Rumi. Mason Steeves is a painter living in Rockwood, Ontario, who is interested in the concept of mythological quest, which is the focus of her reading, travels and study. She exhibits in five Canadian galleries, with annual solo exhibitions. She is represented in many private and corporate collections, including CIBC World Markets, London, The Senvest Collection, Montreal, and The Schulich School of Business, York University. The opening reception for TURN will be held Thursday, Oct. 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Abbozzo Gallery, 179 Lakeshore Rd. E. The show runs through November 23.
