Immediately above, students Alana Boffa, Taylor Smeenk, and Danya Tobin cheer on their team in IRHS's Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness project. A Pink Fashion show will take place at the Glenashton Drive high school tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 23 from 7-9 p.m. in the school's main hallway dubbed "The Street." The fashion show is a motherdaughter event with clothing from two IRHS staff members who have spent more than 10 years collecting the garments from all over North America. There will also be a silent auction with all proceeds going to breast cancer research. Book launch benefits new Afghan school Author and journalist Sally Armstrong will speak about her newest book Nov. 23. Armstrong's book, Bitter Roots, Tender Shoots: The Uncertain Fate of Afghanistan's Women, will take the spotlight at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church, 262 Randall St. Tickets cost $25. Proceeds of this event will go directly towards the building of a school in Sheikh Mistry, Afghanistan.
