8- The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday October 25, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Living Healthy This FREE public education seminar is presented by Halton Healthcare Services in partnership with: Tune in to Daily WebTV If you're an Internet aficionado and want to learn about a variety of subjects from experts in the area where you live, DailyWeb TV might be the answer. A new site on the 'Net, DailyWeb TV (www.dailywebtv.com) is the first such venture for the Metroland Media Group Ltd., and it is being launched in Halton. The brainchild of Meriel Bradley, channel producer for Metroland's Digital Media Centre, she also doubles as host of what she calls the "info-tainment" segments that started appearing daily on www.burlingtonpost.com this week. "DailyWeb TV brings in experts from different fields and they give tips. They'll be three four-minute videos. I live for it. It's fun. There are great ideas and great inspiration," said Bradley. So far, mostly existing Metroland clients are participating, being interviewed and videotaped for their knowledge of a particular service or product. All on-air personalities are owners, operators or managers of a Haltonbased business. "I sit and meet with the client and we do our pre-production" before taping the segment, she said. However, Bradley noted each episode is mostly done off the cuff. "I take the information from the experts. It's really ad-lib. Scripted is not fun to watch. I want spontaneity, that way you can see the expert's personality." On the DailyWeb TV site, an article on the topic of the day will accompany the video. "People don't sit and read for a long time on the Web so we want to promote new content with new video every day, seven days a week." The lineup of segments will remain consistent with one theme each day of the week. Mondays will be devoted to In Motion, anything to do with vehicles and their use; Tuesdays are for Lifestyle and Leisure pursuits; Wednesdays theme is Home and Garden; Thursdays are for In the Kitchen; Friday is New Homes; Saturday is devoted to Real Estate; and Sunday's theme is Health and Beauty. "If someone in Georgetown sees this amazing (DailyWeb TV) video about a kitchen in Burlington and they want to they can drive down and see it. It's a community conversation.
