A fundraising concert, called Evening of Music, is being held Saturday, Nov. 15 featuring the Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir. The choir is donating their time for the event, while choir and Company of Women members, along with other sponsors, are covering all other costs so that 100 per cent of proceeds will go to the charity Opportunity International. "It is a touching thing to see people work together for such a good cause," said Carla Zabek, member of Company of Women and one of the concert organizers. "I think people should come to this concert to experience beautiful music and to support a worthwhile cause." The Toronto Welsh Male Choir has been around since 1995. One of the choir's objectives is to promote Welsh Culture through the study and presentation of Welsh music. From its inception, the choir has performed in churches, cathedrals and concert halls throughout Ontario, Quebec and New York state. The group will perform a variety of tunes at the upcoming concert, from traditional Welsh songs to show tunes and popular music.
