36 - The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday November 12, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Red Devils rattled by net violation Continued from page 32 mini rallies for OT, Trinity answered the call each time, building a 22-9 advantage and this time finishing off its opponents. Trinity, just a year removed from a 3-7 season that left it out of the playoffs, kept things rolling in the deciding set, taking the first three points and building a 7-3 lead. Impending doom seemed to wake up the Devils as they fought back and evened the score, but, as had happened several times in the match, they were disrupted by a referee's call. "We came back, tied it 10-10 and then we get a net (violation) call," said OT coach Jay Anderson, whose team had won 14 straight matches since losing the season opener. "Instead of being up 11-10, we're down 1110. It rattled them and they couldn't come back." It was the first-timers to the big game that kept their composure, allowing only one point the rest of the way to close out the match. "One of the things I learned this year from referees was they told us our team gets way up but also gets way down," Olmstead said. "We've tried to stay more even-keeled and (we) did that today." They did, at least, until the final point hit the floor. Then there was no reason to hold back as they celebrated with their cheering section that rushed on to the floor. Think Green. Breathe Easy.
