It will be at Heritage Square, at the corner of Kerr and Florence streets, from 6-9. A family event, the tree lighting will also feature musical entertainment provided by local school choirs, Michael Keys and Redmond Live. Food samples will be provided by neighbourhood restaurants. Donations will benefit Kerr Street Ministries (KSM). As always, Santa will be on hand to take early requests and hand out Advent calendars. The Kerr Village BIA is also sponsoring its first annual toy drive. Collected toys and stuffed animals will be displayed on the Kerr Village float during Oakville's Santa Claus Parade taking place through downtown Oakville and Kerr Village on Saturday, Nov. 15 starting at 9 a.m. Immediately following the parade, the toys will be delivered to the Kerr Street Ministries. New unwrapped toys will also be accepted up to Nov. 14 at Big Al's Aquarium Warehouse, 557 Kerr St.; FirstOntario Credit Union, 338 Kerr St. and DK Consulting, 118 Kerr St. Kerr Street Ministries at 484 Kerr St. are accepting new toy donations, directly, until Dec. 10.
