www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday November 21, 2008 - 9 All toys are welcome The Oakville Salvation Army Toy Depot will officially open on Monday, Nov. 24. It will be located at 510 Speers Rd., which is on the bus route and comes thanks to Victor Cambone of Camvilla Holding Ltd. The Salvation Army Toy Depot is an annual effort that aims to help make local children's Christmas a memorable one. The depot is the place where people, who qualify with the Salvation Army, can "go shopping" for their children to pick out toys and stocking stuffers for Christmas. Those who wish to use the depot must register with the Salvation Army Oakville by contacting 905-827-5324, www.salvationarmyoakville.ca or stopping by at 1225 Rebecca St. The depot will be open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will operate Saturday, Dec. 13 during the day and Thursday, Dec. 18 from 3-8 p.m. The Toy Mountain arrived at Oakville Place earlier this week in a partnership between the Salvation Army and CTV and donations collected there will also find their way to the Oakville Toy Depot. Donations should be new, unwrapped and, as always, in addition to gifts for young children, gifts appropriate for teenagers (12 to 16) are also needed, such as clothing, cosmetics, gift certificates for music stores, movies and more. NIKKI WESLEY / OAKVILLE BEAVER A HEAP OF HELP: Salvation Army Kettle Co-ordinator Kathy Macdonald donates the first toys to Toy Mountain, which arrived at Oakville Place Monday.
