www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday November 21, 2008 - 11 Pizza store robbed Police are looking for two suspects who robbed Gino's Pizza Store, 1289 Marlborough Court, on Tuesday. According to the Halton Regional Police, shortly before 11 p.m., two men entered the store and demanded money from one of the two male employees. No weapon was seen, but police said one suspect made it appear as though he was concealing one. When the employee did not respond fast enough to the robber's demands, he was pushed to the ground and a struggle ensued. During this altercation the cash register fell to the ground where it opened, spilling money onto the floor. The suspects grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled. The store employee pursued the robbers on foot, but they managed to escape. The second store employee heard the commotion and called police, who searched the area with a canine unit, but came up empty. The first suspect is described as white, 18 to 19 years of age, 170 pounds, wearing a dark blue jacket with grey sleeves, dark jeans with his face partially covered by his shirt. The second suspect is described as white, 18 to 19 years of age, 165 pounds, wearing a red sweater, dark pants, possibly a toque with his face partially covered by his shirt. In the wake of this most recent hold up Halton police are sharing the following tips with employees on how to handle a robbery situation. Police advise employees to follow a robber's instructions and do not resist because even if no weapon is visible the robber could still have one. When the robbery is over employees should immediately lock all doors, call 911 and refrain from touching anything that might have been touched or left behind by the robbers. Employees should also write down a detailed description of the robber with special attention paid to the height, weight, skin colour, sex, marks, scars, tattoos, clothing, footwear and any other detail that might help identify the robber. The Halton Regional Police Service is continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information related to it is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2215 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800222-TIPS (8477).
