Cementing the Health of Our Community Kopz 4 Kidz Riding for a Great Cause On Thursday, November 13, representatives from Dufferin Aggregates - a business unit of St. Lawrence Cement - unveiled two of their Ready Mix Concrete Trucks with the drums of these trucks decorated with sponsor logos and presented Halton Healthcare Services with a cheque for $100,000. The sponsors will receive "rolling recognition" throughout the communities of Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville for one year in exchange for a donation that will help fund priority medical equipment purchases for the three Halton Healthcare Services Hospitals: Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Milton District Hospital and Georgetown Hospital. Dufferin Aggregates are extremely proud and grateful for the support they have received for this very worthwhile community project and we are grateful for their support. Members of the Halton Regional Police Service and many volunteers were excited to launch their new community initiative called "Kopz 4 Kidz". Kopz 4 Kidz program will encompass many events supported by the Halton Regional Police Service to help local youth. One of the outcomes of the program is to fundraise throughout the year to support the various pediatric care centers within the Region of Halton by purchasing items which might make a child's visit more enjoyable. On Saturday November 1st, members from the Halton Regional Police Service along with Halton residents, local schools and businesses' including hospitals took part in an eight (8) hour stationary bike-a-thon at the Burlington Mall. The money raised through Kopz 4 Kidz is distributed to the Halton Healthcare Services' Event organizer Detective Constable Garry Hans Emergency Departments to help (Front Left) with his father (Front Right) riding for make the waiting room experience Halton Healthcare Services. for children and parents less stressful.
