www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday December 3, 2008 - 23 Santa's big scene Kettles and toys The Oakville Salvation Army's annual Christmas Kettle drive is in full swing for the season. It will be all around town until Christmas Eve on Dec. 24. While donations are needed to reach the 2008 Kettle goal of $105,000, so, too, are volunteers willing to stand with the kettles and accept donations. No donations can be collected at a kettle that does not have supervision, so it's important to have enough volunteers for the job. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Kathy Macdonald at 289838-9163. Meanwhile, the Salvation Army's Toy Depot is located at 510 Speers Rd. The depot is the place where people, who qualify, can "go shopping" for their children to pick out toys and stocking stuffers for Christmas. Those who wish to use the depot must register with the Salvation Army Oakville by contacting 905-827-5324, www.salvationarmyoakville.ca or stopping by at 1225 Rebecca St. St. John s United Church is pleased to present An Afternoon with Charles Dickens Join Canadian Actor John D.
