OAKVILLE BEAVER, Friday, December 5, 2008 3 FREE 905-632-4440 63 Community Notices Classified Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm Obituary E-mail: classified@haltonsearch.com Obituary Obituary O'CONNOR, Kenneth Charles- It is with incredible sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth O'Connor on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in Oakville, Ontario after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer. A kind and quiet soul, Ken touched many lives in his 73 years on Earth. He was a highly respected scholar, and Professional Engineer at Shell Canada for 35 years. He loved to travel and was an avid philatelist and numismatist. If a deal was to be had, you can bet that he was there - garage sales will never be the same without him! He gave freely of his time to all, and he was a selfless, thoughtful, generous, patient and truly gentle man to the very end. He had a deep love for his family, and he will be profoundly missed. Born in Barrie, Ontario, Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife of 35 years Janet (nee Cleare) and his parents Charles and Jean (nee Hickling). A loving and supportive father, mentor and role model, he is survived by his daughter Sue (& Jurij), his sons Michael (& Kathy) and Paul (& Melissa), and his long time companion Shirley Ham. There will be many happy memories for his grandchildren Christopher, Andrew, Shelby and Crista. Cremation is entrusted to Steckley-Gooderham of Barrie, Ontario; however, a funeral will not be held at this time. Rather, a celebration of Ken's life will follow (and be communicated) at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
