The Salvation Army has kettles -- in which people can donate cash -- across town at various locations. The kettles will remain in place until Christmas Eve on Dec. 24. While donations are needed to reach the 2008 Kettle goal of $105,000, so too are volunteers willing to stand with the kettles and accept donations. No donations can be collected at a kettle that does not have supervision, so it's important to have enough volunteers for the job. "Kettle volunteers are urgently needed as the success of the campaign is dependent on our volunteer numbers," said Aisha King, community services co-ordinator of the Oakville Salvation Army, which is headquartered on Rebecca Street in west Oakville.
