Oakville photographer Lisa Horvath was one of three photographers who recently represented Canada at the 4 Tashkentale 2008, which is a largescale forum of masters of modern photographic art. The event took place in exhibition halls in the Uzbekistan cities of Tashkent and Bukhara. There were 83 photographers taking part from 22 countries. Above, Horvath (centre) visits Samarkand, the second largest city in Uzbekistan. Samarkand is approximately the same age as Rome, Athens and Babylon --more than 25 centuries old. Below, Horvath stands in front of a display of her photographs at Tashkent House of Photography. For information on Lisa Horvath or to view her images, visit her website at www.lisahorvath.com.
