The Titans held a holiday meet and greet event, part of their preparation for their inaugural season next year. Mayor Rob Burton, town councillors and former Toronto Argonauts player Don Moen were among the attendees at the party, while Bronte Idol Emilia Sadowski performed the national anthem. The Titans will be the rep club of the Oakville Minor Football Association, which was granted acceptance into the South Central Ontario Football League two months ago. The association will also feature house leagues next year. RON KUZYK / OAKVILLE BEAVER Tyke Rangers dominant at Brampton tournament Scoring 34 goals while allowing only five, the Oakville tyke AA Rangers won the championship at the 17th annual Bob Giroux Memorial Tournament in Brampton. Nicholas Tsai and Tanner Elson combined for a shutout in the championship game for the Rangers, who went undefeated at the competition. Christopher Ishmael, Ryan O'Hara, Thomas Harbour, Emma Usher, Curtis Hui and Jamie Everett were Oakville's top goal scorers at the tournament. Joshua Foweather, Ethan Milroy, Michael Fabiano, Tristan Kerec, Roman Miksic, Anthony Tabak also contributed offensively. Cole Salmon and Cooper Elliot were key defensive players for the Rangers, who are sponsored by The Tax Advisory and Turf Net Sports Supplies. Midget A Sun and sand wasn't enough to distract the Oakville midget A Rangers from playing solid hockey at a recent tournament in Florida. Winning all four of their games by at least a three-goal margin, the Rangers coasted to the championship at the Florida Jr. Panthers Thanksgiving Invitational recently in Fort Lauderdale. Oakville locked up the gold with a 6-0 victory over the Florida Thunder in the final. Ryan Procunier, Kyle Thrasher, REPHOCKEY Alex Gehl, John Thornton, Steve O'Connor and Jonny McLaren tallied in the championship game. In previous action, the Rangers dumped the Glacier Sharpshooters 5-2, blanked the Florida Jr. Panthers 5-0 and silenced the Thunder 5-2. O'Connor scored four times in the frst three games, with Alex Gehl, Josh Bernard, Jordi Herman and Thornton scoring twice each. Also notching goals were Adam Budhwani, Mark Loza and Joe Dinadis. Jeremy deSouza and Colin Boyer backstopped the Rangers in goal. Also contributing were Matt Coffin, Stefan Birtch, Shaun Stanton and Nick Price. TOURNAMENT WINNERS: The Oakville tyke AA Rangers (above) and midget A Rangers (below) each won minor Fred Stanton, Mike Gehl, hockey tournaments recently. Minor atom AE The Oakville minor atom AE (additional entry) Rangers began the week in top spot of the Tri-County Minor Hockey League standings with a 12-2-2 record. Oakville went undefeated throughout the entire month of November, winning seven games and tying the other. The Rangers defeated Orangeville 4-0, Hamilton 3-2, Milton 3-2 and 7-1, Stoney Creek 2-0 and 5-0, and Caledon 3-2, also tying Hamilton 0-0.
