Oakville Curling Club will play host to the 10-team tournament from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1. The competition will determine the province's representative for the National Scotties Tournament of Hearts, which will be held Feb. 21 to March 1 in Victoria, B.C. "The Scotties Tournament of Hearts is very much a community event," said Trudy Brown, chair of the volunteer committee. "Club members, volunteers and Oakville residents alike are looking forward to a great weekend of curling." Round-robin play will determine the top four teams competing in the page playoff system, leading to a semifinal game Saturday, Jan. 31. The championship game will take place Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. Games will be played daily at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, at 6:30 p.m. Single-game and daily tickets will be available, as well as a limited quantity of full-week, reserved-seating passes.
