Tara McInnis scored in the final as the Hornets and host Whitby squad were tied 1-1 through regulation time. The Hornets were undefeated in three round-robin games thanks to the strong play of goalies Jenny Schwichtenberg and Andrea Fausto. Hornets' coach Dominick Hardy said his team is the youngest novice rep team in Ontario with just five major novice-aged and 12 minor-aged players. "Despite our height and size disadvantage, this team is amongst the fastest in the league and ten of players can raise the puck with a wrist shot. That makes us very competitive against the bigger and older teams."
