This year's event will take place in Burlington at The Holiday Inn. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and guests will be treated to an evening of entertainment by the Peter Bloom Band, as well as a silent auction table and a dance performance. The event will kickoff February as Heart Month in Halton. Tickets are now on sale for $45 (receive a $20 tax receipt). Contact Trina or Matthew at 905-634-7732. The Heart and Stroke Foundation in Halton will also present Hockey for Heart on Saturday, April 4. It will be the Heart and Stroke Foundation's first annual Hockey for Heart Tournament at The Ice Sports arena in Oakville. The tournament was conceived in the Durham region 13 years ago, and has been a major success. The tournament will commence at 10 a.m. and will conclude at 8 p.m. with its "Pro Stars" Game. This game will include professional hockey players from the NHL and AHL. Players who raise funds for Heart and Stroke research will have the chance to play in this game and earn prizes and one shot to win a new car. Cost to participate is $750 per team.
