Scott MacIntyre, 23, was featured as one of the hopefuls at the closing of the two-hour show. MacIntyre gave a solid audition in Phoenix, Ariz. and was rewarded with a golden ticket to Hollywood. Once there, he faces many more rounds of auditions before the Top 20 are selected for the mega, star search television show. Although he was born in the United States, MacIntyre lived in Former resident on Idol Art show in Bronte Oakville from age 10 to 14 before his family relocated to Scottsdale, Ariz. MacIntyre is not your ordinary musician. Although he has been visually impaired since birth, he started playing piano by ear at age three. His talent was fostered by his parents and he was competing in national competitions and playing on stages across North America by the time he was a teenager. While his first love is the piano, he is also an experienced singer and songwriter. The work of Peter Marangi and Heidi Rohde will fill the front and back galleries of CJ's Café in Bronte until Feb. 3. Peter Marangi is an illustrator/artist who's been intrigued with the arts since childhood. He has done work for clients like the Vatican, Oxford University, Microsoft, C.A.W. and many others. Heidi Rohde is a Burlington artist who taught visual arts for many years and now enjoys painting full-time, as well as teaching workshops and courses in pastel. Her subject matter includes still life and animals, but she has been concentrating on the beauty of the Niagara Escarpment close to her Burlington home, striving to capture the colours, textures and forms of this unique environment..
