He was the special baby sitter of all of the grandchildren since their births and had a special bond with each of them. He loved to play and watch many sports: golf, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, football, competitive swimming and figure skating. He actively participated in these sports in various roles, both as coach, team manager, and convener, to support his children's sports activities and later as a special spectator of his grandchildren's competitive figure skating, soccer and hockey activities in Florida and Oakville. Gord retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, Oakville. He was a quiet gentleman with a great sense of humor; loved and respected by all who knew him.
