Halton has been granted a third berth at the tournament and that spot will go to the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders, who edged Holy Trinity for bronze at last weekend's regional qualifier. Burlington's Assumption Crusaders are the other Halton representatives. Loyola will open the tournament Friday, Feb. 6 against Hamilton's St. Thomas More. Aquinas will play one of the two host schools, St. Catharines' St. Francis, at 1 p.m. Assumption plays Toronto's St. Michael's, also a 1 p.m. start. Semifinals and finals will be played Saturday, Feb. 7, with the gold medal game at 8 p.m. at Denis Morris High School. Matt Hache stopped 11 of 12 shots to earn the victory as the MacKinnon-Phillips Division doubled the Central-Ruddock Division 6-3 in Wednesday's Ontario Junior Hockey League senior all-star game in Orangeville. The Oakville Blades netminder came into the game with the score tied 1-1 and although CentralRuddock briefly took a 2-1 lead, the MacKinnonPhillips squad came back to score three straight before the end of the period. The Blades' Braden Birch and Jeremy Welsh also suited up for the MacKinnon-Phillips team. Former Blades forward and Oakville native Domenic Monardo, now playing for the Aurora Tigers, had a goal and an assist for the MacKinnonPhillips team. The MacKinnon-Phillips Division didn't fare so well in the junior game earlier in the night. They were blanked 4-0 by the Central-Ruddock Division. Blades' defenceman Steven Taylor was Oakville's lone representative on the team. The Blades play a home-and-home series with Streetsville this weekend.
