There will be two performances, on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at Glen Abbey United Church in Oakville. The theme is Favourites -- Bach to Broadway. It will be a potpourri of some of music director J. Bev Stainton's favourite music selections from his past 30 years with the choir. The OCS is appearing with the Oakville Wind Orchestra on Sunday, May 3 at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, singing a selection of Broadway favourites. Stainton will be retiring at the end of this season. The OCS is currently conducting interviews and auditions for his successor. St. Jude's concert St. Jude's Celebration of the Arts and Concerts for Causes presents The Eight Seasons -- From Baroque to Tango on Friday, Feb. 27 New gallery opening A new gallery, called in2art Gallery, is opening in Oakville. A launch party and open house is at 8 p.m. at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William St. Two hundred and fifty years separate the passion of two of the world's most influential composers, from Antonio Vivaldi's staccato notes to the musical blend of Astor Piazzolla's tango. Young musicians from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music will be coming to St. Jude's for the event, with guest soloist and conductor Kai Gleusteen, concertmaster of the Gran Teatre Del Liceu of Barcelona, Spain (The Barcelona Opera). Concerts for Causes is proud to support Food For Life Canada, which delivers food to over 40 agencies and 25 outreach programs in Halton and serves more than 3,000 people in the community.
