The Flyers went 3-1 at the competition, including a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Waterloo Wolves in the championship game. The Flyers were also aided by the Oakville Hound Dogs, who eliminated a tough Clarkson team and opened the door for the Flyers to reach the final. Members of the Flyers are Mathew Rusak, Ryan Sykes, Mathew Taylor, Jalen Cullen, Ben Merrick, Brandon Rawson, Riley Blake, Harrison Watson, Austin Gerow, Tristan Leuty, Will Rieckelman, Logan MacNeil, Tanner Davies, Kevin Samardzic, Michael Cowley and Donald Kareco. Grant Gerow, Ed Rieckelman and Mal Cullen coach the team, Brian Rusak is the trainer and Lenka Rusak is the manager. Polli Taylor is the team MOM. Hound Dogs champs in Peterborough The Oakville novice Hound Dogs won all three of their games to win the championship at the recent Peterborough Minor Hockey Association Novice Tournament. Oakville downed the host Peterborough squad 6-4 in the final. Earlier in the tournament, the Hound Dogs posted 4-0 and 21 victories. Members of the team are Kevin Jin, Bradley Scodeller, Joshua Wadden, Michael Mella, Alex Venneri, Luka Frankovich, Manny DeMelo, Connor Moore, Joshua Cormier, Andrew Bourque, Tim Hawkins, Daniel Littlejohn, Logan Orr, Erik Mustafa, Michael Duch and Kyle Kenning. King's Christian Collegiate student Alex Cameron won bronze in his division at the meet, giving Oakville 10 medalists at the Halton championships.
