www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday February 18, 2009 - 5 Church sells its pews If you need a church pew, look no further than St. Aidan's Anglican Church. The West River area church is selling its pews. They may be of interest to those who want an authentic church pew to add character to a garden, family room, foyer or den. After consulting with the community, the church is doing some rearranging to better serve the community's serious need for meeting and programming space. The church is replacing many of its permanently placed oak pews with individual chairs, which can be moved easily into different seating plans or cleared for celebratory events, special youth programs, community gatherings and neighbourhood meetings. The new, comfortable and upholstered chairs will complement the intimate nature of the nave with its rich mahogany-stained vaulted ceiling beams and hardwood floors. A pew may be just the thing for setting a serene, contemplative tone. Or, if extra seating is what you need, a long strip of open oak bench might be perfect. Three styles are available -- dark oak, light oak and contemporary -- in varying lengths, from about seven feet to about 16 feet. Prices range from $150 to $250, depending on the style and level of detail. St. Aidan's is located at 318 Queen Mary Dr. Full information is available on the church's website at www.staidansoakville.org or contact Richard Bradley via the church office at 905-845-6111.
