OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, March 27, 2009 · 20 Fareshare needs volunteers for Easter drive Oakville's Fareshare food bank needs lots of high school volunteers to hand out paper bags to collect food donations during the Easter Food Drive taking place April 4-19. Volunteers are needed to stand at the entrance to the Great Canadian Superstore located at Trafalgar Road and Dundas Street to hand out bags for shoppers entering the store to fill with food donations. The job is ideal for high school students looking to meet their compulsory volunteer hours. Volunteers are urged to register starting Saturday, March 28. Bags will be handed out beginning April 4. Though students can pick their hours and days, most shifts will focus on peak shopping times on weekends. Hours volunteered will be counted toward the mandatory 40-hour community service required for high school students. Those interested in volunteering or seeking more information can call 905845-8014 in the evenings.
