Deeply loved husband of his darling Bernice, his wife of 63 years, cherished father of Fred (Sandra), adored grandfather of Michael (Ansley) and Katherine. Predeceased by his parents, Rose and Fred, brothers Fred, Bob, Les, Harry, and sisters Rose, Lil and Violet. Born and raised in Montreal - his home for more than 70 years - Kelly loved his summers spent at the family cottage in the Laurentians. He served his country in the R.C.A.F. as a Bombing Instructor during World War II. After the war, Kelly married his sweetheart Bernice, the love of his life, and together they raised their son Fred. Almost 30 years of his life were spent working at the Montreal Star as a Printer. After his retirement, Kelly and Bernice spent many happy nights dancing together at the Royal Canadian Legion, both in Montreal (HochelagaMaisonneuve) and Oakville. Kelly loved his life and lived it with laughter and joy. We will forever miss him. A private family service is planned, followed by cremation. Arrangements entrusted to The Simple Alternative. Born March 8, 1923 in London, England. `Land Girl', War Bride, avid gardener and poet. Predec e a s e d by h e r h u s b a n d , D o n a l d Wellesley Murray. Raised in London, Eunice excelled as a scholar and athlete, and during the war years joined the Women's Land Army. After marrying Don, their travels took them from England to his home in New Brunswick, to Toronto and then Oakville, where Eunice was a children's librarian and storyteller extraordinaire. She inspired children with the love of reading and, for many years, her home was `open house' to a generation of Oakville teens, who could be assured of a welcoming presence, debate, discussion and plenty of laughter. After Don's death in 1982, her later years were filled with her passion for gardening, poetry and her antiques `finds'. She will be sorely missed by her daughters Heather and Glynis, their husbands David Galbraith and Roy Maxwell, and by Paul, Elyse and Sarah, her beloved grandchildren of whom she was so proud, and by her dear friend Peggy McCann, sister-inlaw Christine Mack, brother-in-law John Murray and wife Constance, and her many nieces and nephews. The family expresses its appreciation to the wonderful staff at Martha's Landing, who made a home for Mum in her later years and never failed to value her independence and individuality, and to Dr. Sabrina Ing for her dedicated care. A celebration of Eunice's life will be held Saturday April 4, 2009 at 2 pm, at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William Street in Oakville.
