41 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, April 3, 2009 Concerts, art shows, book signing accompany arrival of April Hopedale Presbyterian Church, 156 Third Line, has almost concluded a fundraising campaign to raise money for a Christian church in Mendha, India. To this end there will be a Mozart Celebration, featuring the music of Mozart, his letters and contemporary writings by the Juno Award-winning Ian Sadler and his wife, Catherine Sadler. There will be concert arias, organ fantasias, sacred solos, selections from Requium, Grand Mass and much more. This event will be held on Saturday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. There is no charge for admission, but a freewill offering will be taken and all proceeds will go to the Mendha project. Majestic trees Several local artists are taking part in an exhibition and sale of photographs called The Majesty of Trees. The show runs from April 1 to May 7 at Oakville Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd. A reception will be held on April 9 at 7 p.m. Arts Briefs The photographers participating in the exhibition include Rob Boak, Don Corby, Yvonne Cunnington, Margaret Grant, Carol Mooney, Clara Parsons and Ajia Straumanis, who are all members of the Trillium Photographic Club.
