Police seize 163 pot plants Two men are facing charges following a police raid of an alleged marijuana grow op in north Oakville on Friday. Police seized 163 marijuana plants during the raid at 1495 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. by the Halton Regional Police Service Drug and Morality Bureau and the Halton police Emergency Services Unit. During the raid, police allege one of the suspects assaulted a police officer while he was being arrested. Police said the raid uncovered a sophisticated hydroponic cannabis marijuana laboratory on the upper floor of the home. Besides the plants, police seized 1.9 pounds of dry cannabis marijuana, scales, packaging and a quantity of hydroponic equipment. According to police, the marijuana has an estimated street value of $83,000 while the equipment is estimated to have a value of $1,200. No one was hurt during the police raid. Patrick Shaw, 33, of Oakville has been charged with producing a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.
