OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, May 15, 2009 · 32 Burgess performs at fundraiser The Darling Home for Kids presents Up Close and Personal with Michael Burgess at Appleby College on Thursday, May 21 at 7 p.m. Held at the John Bell Chapel at Appleby College, the night will include a performance by Burgess, a Canadian vocalist known for his role as Jean Valjean in the Toronto production of Les Misérables. A reception will follow with the opportunity to meet the star himself. Prior to Burgess's performance, the Appleby College Cantus Choir will perform from their awardwinning repertoire. The proceeds from this music-filled night will go to The Darling Home for Kids Capital Campaign, a project that more than doubles the Home's size. Tickets cost $75. Concerts will run every Holiday Monday, Canada Day, every Sunday brunchtime and several Saturdays throughout the summer. The May 18 concert will feature host and musician John Serre.
