Oakville Conserves Energy Fair hosted at Town Hall this Saturday The Oakville Conserves Energy Fair will be at Oakville Town Hall on Saturday, May 23. The fair will feature exhibits by Oakville-based companies that produce energy-conserving products or green power. Halton Environmental Network will give two workshops from 10:30­11:30 a.m. and 1­2 p.m. on using solar panels at home. Town Hall is at 1225 Trafalgar Rd. The Oakville Conserves Energy Fair is part of the Town's celebration of Energy Conservation Week, which runs May 17 to 23. The Town of Oakville appointed the first municipal energy conservation officer in Ontario and published its first State of the Environment Report in 2008. The Planning department received a revised Zoning By-law Amendment application for the following: H Pay-and-Display system with no gated entrance exits points; H Permit the entire floor area of the building (6139.20 sq. m) to be used for medical ofices; whereas the by-law permits 2,092.46 sq. m on the second, third and fourth floors to be used for medical office uses; H Permit a reduction in the required parking to 221 on-site parking spaces whereas 265 would be required based on the proposed amount of medical office floor space within the building; H Permit 72 parking spaces to be provided off-site for the purposes of staff parking; H To permit a shared parking arrangement between the medical building and the abutting apartments buildings. The effect of this application would be to allow the land owner to charge for parking, permit the entire building to be used for medical offices with a shared parking arrangement.
