Morden Public School was one of 12 students recognized for their winning essays and artwork as part of the 2009 Mathieu Da Costa Challenge. Ahmed was a winner in the Best Creative Writing Category (English) for 13-15 year-olds. It was entitled Who Are You? She was presented with her award at a recent ceremony in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mathieu Da Costa is believed to be the first black person to have set foot in Canada. One town. One heart.
