20 Artscene Sign up now for guitar, bass, drums, and piano OAKVILLE'S MUSIC STORE · WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2009 All that jazz SUBMITTED PHOTO GOLDEN PERFORMANCE: High Rendition Jazz recently received a gold award in the instrumental jazz division at MusicFest Canada in Markham.The festival is an annual, national event that brings together more than 10,000 of Canada's finest young musicians who perform for recognition as the country's foremost musical ensembles. The group was invited to perform at the event following a gold award at the Golden Horseshoe MusicFest in Ancaster in February. Founded in 2007, this local, not for profit band consists of 21 talented musicians between the ages of 14 and 19 from various schools in Oakville, Burlington and the Halton area. The group is holding its annual concert on Friday, May 29 at 8 p.m. at Glen Abbey United Church. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
